| Contraindications | Hypersensitivity to tramadol. Patients with significant respiratory depression, severe bronchial asthma, gastrointestinal obstruction, using of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or use within the previous 14 days. |

| Pediatric use | Contraindicated under age 12 and for postoperative use for children under 18. | |
| Pregnancy | Embryotoxic and fetotoxic in rats at doses comparable to maximum human dosage. | |
