Contraindications | Allergy to any of the penicillins. (Caution if history of cephalosporin allergy.) | |
Pediatric use | Consult dosing tables (package insert ) and warnings for children under 40kg. | |
Pregnancy | Category B. No evidence in rats of teratogenicity at 10x the human dose. | |
Consider Septra (Monarch pharma) or Bactrim (Roche) when penicillin allergy is encountered. |
